Firstly, the on-site person who conducts the check always provides a video for transparency and to clearly identify the problem. These will be saved in your landlord portal and also emailed to you on request. We also provide upon request the specific regulations for any failed items, including AS3000/3008 for Wiring Rules and AS5601 for Gas Installations.
There is never an obligation for for you to accept any repairs quote - we understand if you want to obtain a second quote or opinion.
With that said, we strongly believe our quotes are priced reasonably and, to the end, offer a best price guarantee on all quotes - if you do find a better price, we’ll beat it.
Additionally, if the check is conducted by a contractor (rather than, as is more frequently the case, a CheckHero employee) to avoid any conflict of interest, we never assign the same contractor who conducted the check to perform the repairs. The reason for this is simple: we believe in transparency and integrity. By having a separate contractor conduct the repairs, we ensure that there is no bias or conflict of interest in the quote. This ensures that our clients receive an accurate and fair assessment of the repairs required, and that the work carried out is in their best interest.
Your repair details will be stored in your property portal along with your compliance certification, as per regulatory requirements.
CheckHero is dedicated to providing safe and compliant properties through our gas, smoke alarm and electrical safety checks. We believe that by offering transparent and fair quotes for repairs, we are offering substantial value for landlords while also doing our part to ensure the safety and well-being of those who occupy the properties we check.
