This is very important if the resident is sleeping with the door closed or where the child is sleeping. Smoke alarms cannot detect smoke from closed doors. Studies show that children are more likely to wake up with an alarm in their bedroom. At the very least, it is advisable to install a smoke detector in the hallway closest to the bedroom. You need to make up for it with another alarm as soon as possible.
